WHAT IS ĀYURVEDA?
Āyurveda is one of the oldest systems of medicine, a science of well-being and health that is practised as a way of life. Āyurveda helps to create a balanced state of body, mind and soul.
WHAT IS AYURVEDIC WELLNESS?
The aim of āyurvedic wellness is to bring daily rituals for greater balance, energy and calm into your daily life, boosting immunity and sleep and reducing stress. Sunanda supports individual and collective journeys to wellness by offering āyurvedic bodywork and constitutional talks that centre decolonial joy in the diaspora.
The wellness treatments use high-quality, traditional āyurvedic massage oils, which are produced in a lengthy process involving hours of boiling down medicinal herbs. Ghee, sesame, castor, mustard or coconut oil are used as carrier substances. The oils can sometimes be perceived as intense, but for accessibility reasons only base oils can be used or an oil-free application can be chosen.
WHAT KIND OF TREATMENTS DO YOU OFFER?
In addition to full body massages with warm āyurvedic oils, I also offer partial massages of the back, arms and hands, head and neck, legs and feet, which are specifically tailored to specific areas of the body. I also offer various āyurvedic body treatments with and without oils, wellness consultations and workshops.
WHAT IS YOUR APPROACH?
My dream is to create a space for wellbeing with the founding of AMBi and holistic āyurvedic treatments and massages in Vienna. A retreat for everyone who wants to (re)connect with their embodied knowledge and embark on individual and collective healing journeys. Āyurveda has been renewing itself for thousands of years with each generation that reapplies and understands its profound principles. My approach is to bring my reality of life within the diaspora to the diversity of āyurvedic knowledge and to tailor my practices to bring harmony, balance and well-being, especially for BIPoCs, queer and trans people who have not yet been included by the traditional health and wellness industry.
ARE SOCIAL TARIFFS OFFERED?
There are limited social tariff offers available. Please ask me about this when booking an appointment.
